Nepal's rivers run off the highest mountains on Earth and lose 4,000 metres of altitude before reaching India. That gradient is why the rafting here is world-class.

Trishuli for a day of accessible adrenaline; Karnali and Sun Koshi for multi-day wilderness descents.

PUT-IN

The guide reads the water like text — a tongue of green here, a recirculating hole there. You paddle when told. The river does the rest.

THE RAPIDS

Grade III–IV: washing-machine waves with names like Upset and Surprise. The boat is an argument between gravity and eight people working in sync.

CAMP

Multi-day trips end each afternoon at a white-sand beach camp: dinner from a wok, stars in a sky without competition, the river running its night shift.
